Anushka Sharma was the daughter of Kumar Sharma (retd.) and Ashima Sharma. She was born in Ayodhya UP on 1 May 1988. Her father was a former colonel was Anushka. and her mother is a homemaker. Karnesh Sharma, Anushka's elder brother, has served as a Merchant Navy officer and is now a film producer. Anushka is a graduate at the Army School Bangalore. She has also earned a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore. Anushka has a doctorate in studies in economics. Anushka was hoping to be an actor or journalist and not a performer. Anushka, after completing her degree in Mumbai, enrolled at Elite Model Management. She received training from style expert Prasad Bidapa. Anushka's first time as a fashion model came in 2017, after she modelled for Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week, and then was chosen by Rodricks to be a model in the Spring Summer 2007 collection. Anushka's modelling career began at Lakme Fashion Week in 2017. Since then, she has been involved in several campaigns, including campaigns for Fiat Palio & Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka Sharma, in addition to her modelling career, joined an acting academy and began to audition for films. In 2008, Anushka Sharma made her acting debut with the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The actress took a day off to get ready for the screen test, and refused to perform an unplanned version. After that, she was signed for three films under the Yash Raj Films banner. In one of them, she was the young, middle-aged bride male (the role Shah Rukh Khan was playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. In 2010, Anushka Sharma starred in the film 'Badmash Company together with Shahid Kapoor Vir Das and Meiyang Chang. The movie received mixed reviews. Anushka appeared as a Punjabi girl from the middle class in the movie named 'Band Baaja Baraat. The film featured her alongside Ranveer. The movie was a huge success with a lot of praise. Anushka had completed the three film contract together with Yash Raj Films.
